Annapurna Trekking - Around Pokhara Mini Trek
The Annapurna Trekking – Around Pokhara Trek involves only very easy trekking and is suited to anyone – including those of limited fitness as well as families and young children.
It allows you to experience the beautiful Himalayas and also the local (mainly Gurung) traditional villages and culture in the area. If you are after a taste of what trekking in the Himalayas is like without all the hard work and the physical hardship then this is perfect for you.
This short trek includes a day of sightseeing and boat ride on Phewa Lake in the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara which is arguably the most photogenic town in Nepal.
Experience sunrise over the Himalayas, eat traditional cuisine and just relax and enjoy the amazing mountain and hillside scenery on this trek.

Day 1 – Kathmandu – Pokhara (5 hrs drive)
It’s the start of our trip today and begins with a drive to Pokhara. You can sit back and enjoy the view along the way as we pass through farmland and villages on the highway as it weaves through the hillside. On arrival in Pokhara you will have some time to explore the lakeside area, do some souvenir shopping or just relax. Pokhara is a beautiful lakeside town, spectacularly located on the banks of Phewa Lake with a stunning backdrop of the Annapurna Himalaya. Overnight in Pokhara. Included meals – breakfast.
Day 2 – Pokhara sightseeing
We start our day today with a full day of sightseeing. Starting with a drive to the World Peace Pagoda spectacularly located on a hill beside Phewa Lake with great views of the lake and of Pokhara. From here we visit Devi’s Falls and the Tibetan Refugee Camp where we can watch the women weaving carpets and purchase some handicrafts. We then head back to the lakeside area where we take a boat ride on Phewa lake from where we can see the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas reflected in the tranquil waters of the lake. Overnight in Pokhara. Included meals – breakfast.
Day 3 – Pokhara – Sarangkot – Naudanda (1 hr drive 3 hrs trek)
We start our day with a drive to Sarangkot for sunrise. From here we can enjoy the magnificent view as the first rays of sun light up the snow capped peaks of the Annapurna Range to the north. After sunrise we have some breakfast in Sarangkot before starting our trekking. It’s a leasurely 3 hour walk to our destination at Naudanda where we stay at a gorgeous organic farm with cute cottages. Here we can explore the local village with traditional houses and learn about traditional village life. Overnight in Naudanda. Included meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 4 – Naudanda to Dhampus (3 hrs)
This morning we start our trek after another incredible Himalayan sunrise and trek to Dhampus. It’s an easy walk through forest where we can see many different types of flora and fauna. Dhampus is a lovely traditional Gurung village where we can observe the life of the locals. Dhampus has incredible views of the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas with traditional houses ensuring picture postcard photos. Overnight in Dhampus. Included meals – breakfast, lunch, dinner.
Day 5 – Dhampus – Australian Camp (5 hrs)
Today we leave Dhampus for the Australian Camp. This is located on a hilltop with incredible views of the surrounding countryside and of the Annapurna Himalaya. It’s a fairly easy walk through forest and hillside country. Overnight at Australian Camp.
Day 6 – Australian Camp – Kande – Pokhara (1 hr trek 1 hr drive)
This morning we have the opportunity to watch the sunrise from Australian Camp. It is a magical experience from here as the first light appears on the snow capped peaks of Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and many others. After breakfast we have a 1 hour trek to Kande where we are picked up by our vehicle which will take us back to Pokhara. In Pokhara there is a chance for some more sighseeing, or a visit to one of the Tibetan refugee camps or relaxing by the lake. Overnight in Pokhara. Included meals – breakfast.
Day 7 – Pokhara – Kathmandu (5 hrs)
After breakfast we head back to Kathmandu. It’s a beautiful drive through lush hillside country filled with rice fields and villages along the way. We arrive in Kathmandu by mid afternoon when your tour finishes.
Note: This itinerary may differ slightly during your tour. Occasionally itineraries need to change to allow for weather conditions, transportation , travellers desires etc. It is recommended that you allow an additional 1-2 days before your international flight to allow for mountain airport delays and other unforeseen circumstances.
